“Resolution” Firmware with Zigelbaum + Coelho

This piece by Z+C exemplifies for me an artistic realization of the effects of Moore’s law. Resolution deployed roughly three-hundred 8-bit processors, something that would have cost a small fortune a couple of decades ago.

I wrote the firmware, which handles infrared emission & reception, capacitive readings, animations, and power management.

The result is an interactive exhibit that becomes unique for each person as the devices respond to proximity and touch by fading and switching colors.
